offer for the 2008-2009 academic year. Please note that there
may be some changes to the compensation packages offered
in the future.

Generally we seek students with significant residence hall

RA, etc.). Please keep in mind that we have a strong graduate
academic program in Higher Education Administration. Many of
our hall directors and assistant coordinators come out of that
program. While we have had graduate assistants from other academic
programs, the majority are in Higher Education Administration.
Should you have any additional questions, please feel free
to contact Miguel Hernandez, Assistant Director of Residence
Life via e-mail at
mahernandez@admin.fsu.edu or

Conference
Ambassador
Conference Ambassadors (CAs)
are on-site liaisons between the Summer Conference Coordinator
and conference participants. Conference Ambassadors serve
as the initial point of contact for any person entering or
calling the residence hall. They are expected to create an
atmosphere of helpfulness and friendliness by greeting and
receiving conference guests and other visitors. The conference
ambassador duties are related to three
general areas: communication, security and clerical. In addition
to these general duties, conference ambassadors serve as
hall tour guides during new student orientation. Because
FSU Housing wishes to ensure a quality experience for all
conference participants, Conference Ambassadors must meet
several qualifications. CAs are selected for their academic
proficiency, concern for the welfare of University guests
and maturity to cope with the demands of their role. CAs
must have a cumulative FSU grade point average of 2.0 at
the time of hire and throughout the appointment period and
must not be under criminal or judicial sanction.
All CAs must maintain student
status while employed and may take limited course work during
summer sessions. Conference Ambassadors must participate
in a training program prior to their employment. Students
interested in the position must do the following:
1. Download the application
form. The form is presented in pdf
(Adobe) format. For help viewing Adobe documents, you
can download a free copy of the reader at www.adobe.com .
2. Complete the application
and attach a copy of your summer course schedule.
3. Return the completed application
to UNIVERSITY HOUSING by April 14, 2008. Please remember
to attach a copy of your summer schedule. Incomplete applications
will not be considered.
Applicants who are selected
for an interview will be contacted via email to schedule
an interview time. For additional information, please contact
Franks Cuevas, Summer Conference Coordinator. He can be reached
at 644-2860 or by email fcuevas@admin.fsu.edu.
