Custodial Daily Cleaning Schedule

Below is the normal or routine schedule of the daily tasks (Monday through Friday) that is performed by our custodial staff. Please note that this is a general schedule and that each building may have a unique quality that will cause a minor deviation from this schedule. Keep in mind that special projects or unanticipated emergencies my impact this schedule. For students in residence halls with community baths, take note that we do not begin cleaning floor baths until 10:15 a.m. You should check to see what the routine time is for your individual floor.

At any time you do not feel that your floor is getting the attention that it requires please contact the associate director dsagaser@admin.fsu.edu or the custodial superintendent wnorsworthy@admin.fsu.edu for a custodial evaluation form. We welcome your input on the job that we are doing for you.

Monday Through Friday Custodial Cleaning Schedule

8:00 a.m. Staff report to work and receive updates on daily activities.

8:10 a.m. Inspect assigned work areas and report any problems.

Sweep and mop entrance areas and empty trash.

Clean main lobby, rec. room, kitchens, study lounges, laundry rooms and stairwells.

Clean Elevator walls, floors, doors, tracks and landings.

Clean Light Fixtures on Monday and Fridays.

10:00 a.m. Break

10:15 a.m. Clean public restrooms and community baths.

Vacuum corridors, clean walls, baseboards, water fountain and, sweep and mop floors.

Buff floors on Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays.

12:00 Lunch

12:30 p.m. Floor and community bath cleaning continues.

3:00 p.m. Break

3:15 p.m. Mop stairwells, empty trash, recheck elevators, and bathrooms.

On Friday do preventative maintenance and service on equipment.

4:20 p.m. Put up cleaning carts and equipment.

4:30 p.m. Sign out end of work day.
